Laura’s Wine of the Week: Nostros Pinot Noir Reserva 2008, Viña Indomita, Casablanca Valley, Chile. Delicate, with sweet red juicy cherries. Warming ripe finish. Decent Pinot at a decent price. Good with pork chops.

Orgullo Rioja

Laura’s Wine of the Week: Orgullo (Pride) Rioja 2005, Los Pecadillos, DOCa, Rioja, Spain. This wine is made in an innovative style using modern techniques. The result is a forward, concentrated wine with lush dark fruit with a touch of vanilla spice. Exceptional quality.

Stella Bella Chardonnay

Laura’s Wine of the Week: This is not like the over-oaked Chardonnay’s that have put us off Australian whites recently. This has terrific balance and a surprising elegance. It is crisp with melons and grapefruits, minerality and a hint of white flowers. Delicious.
