St Pancras Station is to get its own food market later this year. Sourced, the quality food market company, are bringing their market to St Pancras station, making fresh produce available seven days a week. Due to open this September, the market is located on street level at the northern end of the shopping concourse, under the main departure boards.
Source commented, “This is a hugely exciting project both for us and Network Rail. Our aim is to combine the quality and variety of a produce market with the convenience of this stunning urban location. You will be able to pick up fresh fruit on the way to the office and everything you need for a fabulous meal on the way home.”
At St Pancras, Sourced aims to provide an outlet for the UK’s best small producers, sourcing locally where possible and with an emphasis on seasonal and organic produce. All their meat will be free-range and the fish and seafood will be sustainably sourced.
The food on offer will include cheeses from Neal’s Yard Dairy, fish and seafood from Looe in Cornwall, meats from Laverstoke Park Farm, and fresh bread and pastries from Flour Power City and Flour Station. They will also have a deli offering a new menu each day, featuring salads, pies, pastas and cooked meals.
A dedicated website will be created so that customers can pre-order food from the office and then pick it up as they pass the station on their way home.
