At the very top of the National Portrait Gallery off Trafalgar Square, The Portrait Restaurant boasts one of the most remarkable and spectacular views in London. Recently refurbished, the modern interior provides a light open space where guests can enjoy traditional afternoon tea whilst looking out over the rooftops of London.

portrait restaurantThe Portrait Restaurant Afternoon Tea menu offers a wide range of specialty teas, sandwiches and homemade cakes, biscuits and scones. Swedish Head Chef Katarina Todosijevic’s creations consist of all the classics of an English afternoon tea, plus other choices including Keens cheddar cheese scones and for sweet tooth diners, indulgent homemade chocolate brownies or a selection of homemade cakes.

For something special, opt for the ‘Pink Fizz Tea’ with a glass of Rosé Prosecco, smoked salmon sandwiches, lemon meringue pot, raspberry & almond slice to name a few items that are part of the package for £18. Enjoy all of these delights whilst taking in the views of Nelsons’ Column, Whitehall and Westminster.

Visitors can also enjoy a leisurely drink at the new bar which offers an extensive selection of Gin cocktails and sparkling cocktails such as the Portrait Bellini (Lychee liqueur, Pomegranate juice and Jeio Prosecco). The wine list includes a selection of biodynamic, organic and unusual varieties.

The Portrait Restaurant serves afternoon tea on Monday to Sunday from 15.15 – 17.00. Afternoon Tea menu: £14.50. Pink Fizz Tea: £18.00.

A la carte lunch is served on Monday to Friday from 11.45 – 15.00. A set menu is also on offer, 2 Courses £18.00, 3 Courses £23.00.

A pre-theatre menu is available on Thursday and Friday evening from 17.30 – 18.30. 2 Courses £16.95, 3 Courses £19.95, including a glass of Rose D’Anjou wine spritzer.

A brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11.30 – 15.00. 2 Courses £20.50, 3 Courses £25.50.
