The Hyde Bar at The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is set to be transformed this summer into a gentlemen’s paradise to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the first known batch of whisky ever produced. Running from now until the 21st June, the Chivas Regal Gentlemen’s Lounge will give guests and whisky connoisseurs alike the chance to drink from a select menu of Chivas Regal’s blended scotch whiskies and choose from a delicious selection of hearty dishes created exclusively for the experience.
Throughout the three-week takeover, there will be a programme of exclusive experiences for guests which will encapsulate the spirit of a classic British gentlemen’s club. Visitors will have the chance to have their shoes polished by London’s oldest shoe shine company, ‘London Shoe Shine’, choose from a selection of cigars available in The Hyde Bar’s humidor courtesy of the Havana Cigar Exchange, and partake in a unique ‘Art of Blending’ whisky course by the Chivas Regal UK Ambassador and whisky expert.
550 years after Friar John Cor recorded the first ever batch of Scotch whisky, The Hyde Bar will also be introducing guests to its Chivas Regal Sour Hour. Every evening from 6-7pm the Gentleman’s Lounge will be serving a selection of beautifully handcrafted whisky sour cocktails – including The Classic Sour, The Hyde Bar Sour (Chivas Regal 12 Year Old with fresh passion fruit and lemon juice) and The Knightsbridge Sour (Chivas Regal 12 Year Old with Sauvignon Blanc – yes, the wine varietal). Cocktails will cost just £9.50 each and will be served with a selection of light bites inspired by the new dining menu. The Hyde Bar will also offer the Chivas Regal 12, 18 and 25 year old blends as a special tasting flight.
The Hyde Bar will also feature a special menu which has been created by Pascal Proyart, acclaimed Executive Head Chef at The Park Tower Knightsbridge. Highlights of the menu include Treacle and Whisky Cured Salmon Biscotti; Duck and Pistachio Pie; Venison Scotch Quail Eggs with Cranberry; and Cherry Cobbler with Whisky Ice Cream and an Edible Cigar filled with Coffee Mousse.
London Shoe Shine will be offering a free top-notch polishing service for guests every Tuesday evening.
