Tinker, tailor and man about town, Timothy Everest MBE, gives us his well chosen recommendations of where to eat, drink, shop and explore this July…
To Eat: Chiltern Firehouse, Marylebone
One of the most talked about new restaurants in London, the Chiltern Firehouse really does live up to the hype. From the charmingly dressed waiters, to the simple and delicious menu, everything works together perfectly to make your evening a special one (if you’re lucky enough to get table six you can have a go on the fire pole.)
To Drink: Gong, 52nd Floor Shangri-La, The Shard
Nestled above London’s glittering skyline, Gong is officially the highest bar in the country and the crowning feature of the new Shangri-La Hotel. Complete with skillfully made cocktails, an extensive range of champagnes and even an infinity pool for the summer, Gong really is the perfect hang out to watch the sun go down.
To Shop: Globetrotter, 35 Albemarle Street
Make sure you travel in style this summer with an exquisitely made leather case from Globetrotter’s brand new flagship London store. Browse the craftsmanship that has travelled with Robert Falcon Scott to the Antarctic, HM Queen Elizabeth 11 on her honeymoon and Sir Edmund Hilary to Everest’s base camp.
View isn’t quite word for this exhibition, experience is far more fitting. The Space Where I Am is a group show exploring the ideas of the void and emptiness from the 1960’s to the present day. This collection plays thoughtfully with the juxtaposition of finality and impermanence while philosophically deconstructing the idea of form. Thoughtful and emotive, definitely one to check out.
