It’s that time of the year when the French Riviera sees its most glamorously dressed A-listers gracing the red carpet in Cannes for the biggest date on the international film calendar, the Cannes Film Festival. Hollywood stars have been jetting into the Cote d’Azur all week, and more of the famous will soon be making their way to the heart of Monte Carlo for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
As Monaco prepares to host the race, Amber Lounge gets set to open the F1 weekend with their spectacular Charity Fashion show at the Le Meridien Beach Plaza. Luxury designers Melissa Odabash and Julien Macdonald are coming back to the runway for this year’s show and joining them on the catwalk is the Paris Fashion House, Vionnet, launched in Paris in 1912 by the inventor of ‘coup de bias’ – Madeline Vionnet.
Last year the brand appointed designer Hussein Chalayan, known for his avant-garde designs, as their demi-couture designer. I am excited to see what colours and innovative designs are unveiled on the Monaco runway this Friday.
