Father’s Day: Give Dad a Break

0

So, we’re two days from Father’s Day, you forgot a card last year (ahem, mea culpa), you know he’ll be happy with the standard beer/scotch/book token but you really think you should push the boat out this year. Well, fear not, we’ve got a selection of getaways, lunch offers and deals that’ll really surprise the old man after which he’ll forgive you ad infinitum if you ever forget it again…

Father’s Day Lunch at No Man’s Fort

Step aboard the historic No Man’s Fort, one of the UK’s most secluded island retreats, for a memorable Father’s Day lunch on Sunday 18 June. One of a series of land- and sea-based forts built by Lord Palmerston to repel a perceived French Invasion, the fort stands majestically in the Solent boasting spectacular panoramic views across the waters to the Isle of Wight on one side and mainland UK on the other, creating a stunning backdrop for a treat for the whole family.

Stepping onboard at Gunwharf Quays, you will be welcomed with a chilled glass of Prosecco, followed by a guided tour of the impressive ancient monument and a sumptuous three course lunch in the Mess Hall.

Prices start from £99 per person for the special day out at sea, including return boat transfers, a full guided tour, a welcome reception drink and a three course luncheon (accompanied by half a bottle of house wine per person). Your Father will also enjoy a gift from the Solent Fort team to take away. For reservations call 02392 776 110 or visit https://solentforts.com/offer/fathers-day-lunch for more information.

Grooming and Guinness at The Marylebone

If cigars aren’t your old man’s thing, The Marylebone has teamed up with one of London’s oldest luxury barber and groomer’s, Truefitt & Hill, to launch an exclusive pop-up in the hotel’s 108 Pantry. Throughout the weekend, they will be offering complimentary treatments to celebrate great Dads from far and wide.
