Runway to Racetrack: Monaco Fashion

The Monaco F1 Grand Prix is on countdown to start and is set to be a weekend of extravagance, fashion, super cars, yacht parties, Hollywood star spotting, and if my experience from previous years is anything to go by – then a little wild too.

To start the weekend off in style, Amber Lounge will be serving cocktails at sunset, dinner designed by Michelin-star chef Michael Caines and their annual Runway Show bringing a British fashion collaboration to their poolside catwalk – Odabash & Macdonald.

Previously a swimwear model herself, Melissa Odabash launched her luxury lifestyle brand over a decade ago and has created sophisticated swimwear which attracts stars such as Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum and Beyonce, amongst other celeb fans, and now working together with renowned designer Julien Macdonald, they have created capsule collections. Macdonalds’s reputation as a leading fashion designer is well known; his first presentation ‘Mermaid’ was styled by the late British style icon Isabella Blow – bring on the decadence.

This prestigious charity event which will be held at Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel on Friday 23rd May, this year supports the official charity The Brain & Spine Foundation. The F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Eric Vergne, Daniil Kyvat, Adrian Sutil, Esteban Gutierrez, Max Chilton, Marcus Ericsson and Jules Bianchi dressed by luxury menswear designer Apsley Tailors will be seen walking down the runway before they take to the racetrack on Sunday.
